With homeowners in 2020 spending more time in their homes than ever before we’ve seen a huge focus on glazing products which offer sustainability, longevity, thermal performance and lighting.

With the help of intelligent design and innovation we have seen a shift towards choosing energy-efficient glazing made from sustainable materials to provide lighting, heating and cooling components throughout the home.

Double Glazed Aluminium windows and doors are a popular choice to minimise the effect on the environment through lower carbon emissions and sustainable materials. We offer a range of products which suit any home from the ultramodern to the traditional and contemporary. Here are some trends we expect to see grow across 2021;

LARGE PANELS WITH MINIMAL LINES

Trends show that natural light is the number one interior design feature people look for when buying their home.

The demand for large glass panels and less frame delivered by curtain walling has increased rapidly over the last 12 months and shows no signs of slowing down.

Larger glass and less frame allows more natural light to flood into the home making the rooms appear bigger and brighter, aluminium roof lanterns and flat roofs have been more popular than ever flooding rooms with light.

The aesthetics also gives the effect of ‘bringing outside in’ allowing the living spaces flow seamlessly outside with the use of bifolding and sliding doors.
We’ve also seen demand for glazing to assist in the adaptation of the workplace.

SLIDING GLASS DOORS

2019 saw a huge demand for bifolding doors, whilst these are still popular we’ve seen a huge demand increase for sliding patio doors. Allowing larger glass panel give a sense of space whilst allowing the use to benefit from increased daylight and dramatic views.

Internal sliding doors can now be designed with a cavity pocket which allows for the glass panel to slide into the wall cavity to fully open the living area and allow the space to flow seamlessly.

COLOURED WINDOW FRAMES

Whilst we’ve seen an increased demand for black and dark grey frames over the past 2 years, interest in additional frame colours have become hugely popular in 2020. We offer a range of colours which allow the homeowner to incorporate personal style with the design and feel of their home.

THE INDUSTRIAL LOOK

The popularity of the aluminium window has shown it’s here to stay. One of the most popular window designs for 2020 is the heritage design. This can be incorporated across windows and doors to provide a sleek and modern style that has been trending through 2020 and looks set to continue into 2021.
